How It Works
Research Shows — SUCCEED® Really Works

Before SUCCEED® was introduced for sale, it was tested and evaluated in an 80 horse trial in 2003. If you are a veterinarian and would like to see our initial research on this product, contact us. Note that this trial is only available to veterinarians.

Since then, SUCCEED® has been tested in a number of studies that looked at utility in a variety of factors. Here are the results of those studies:

  • Effect of Adding SUCCEED® to the Diet of Pregnant Mares 90 Days Pre-Foaling
Scott Carter, PhD, and Franklin Pellegrini, DVM

SUCCEED® was added to the diet of pregnant mares 90 days prior to foaling. Colostrum samples were taken within one hour post-foaling. The mares fed SUCCEED® showed a statistically significant 97% increase in colostrum immunoglobulins (IgG) values compared to mares not receiving SUCCEED®.

  • The Use of SUCCEED® as a Tool to Add Value During Yearling Sales Preparations
Scott Carter, PhD, and Franklin Pellegrini, DVM

Yearlings being prepped for sale received SUCCEED® for 60 days, compared with an equally distributed control group. At the time of sale, total sale value of the SUCCEED-fed yearlings exceeded that of the control by 12 percent — and the SUCCEED® yearlings exceeded their appraised value by approximately four percent.

  • The Use of Performance Journals to Measure the Utility of SUCCEED® Digestive Conditioning Program®
Scott Carter, PhD, and Patrick Warczak, Jr.

Horse owners and trainers were asked to evaluate various aspects of their horses’ appearance and performance both before and after implementing the SUCCEED® Digestive Conditioning Program®. These performance journals showed statistically significant improvements in observed appetite, body condition score, stamina, temperament and other qualities.

  • Studying the Effects of SUCCEED® Digestive Conditioning Program® on the Development of Horses at Weaning
Scott Carter, PhD, and Franklin Pellegrini, DVM

Horses fed SUCCEED® Digestive Conditioning Program® ten days prior to and for three months following weaning showed a statistically significant increase in weight compared to a control group, at days 30, 60 and 90 of the experimental period. Weanlings fed SUCCEED® gained approximately 50 more pounds (per animal) at the conclusion of the study.
